You’re the first to hear about this!

Hi, Reader!

Spring has sprung, and for many high school juniors, now is the time to start thinking about getting letters of recommendation for the college applications you’ll be filling out this summer.

And with competition increasing for many schools, you want to make sure those letters of recommendation stand out.

But how do you make sure you get those impactful letters? If only there were a magical document you could create and give to teachers to show how much you’ve contributed to the high school experience and what you’re going to add to the college community.

That magical document is your student resume.

Sure, having it is going to super-simplify that whole letters of recommendation journey, but it’s also so useful when you’re filling out college applications or applying to jobs and internships!

The importance of this document is one reason I'm so excited to announce the launch of my on-demand student resume writing course and companion printable guide! This isn't your typical “insert accomplishments here” kind of course. Instead, I dive deep into how students can use their resume to reflect their unique personality, passions, and potential (and, in turn, get better letters of recommendation, write stronger activities lists, and show fit to major to schools like UT and A&M).

You know that I’ve always been focused on helping students apply to college with less stress and more confidence … and if you’re here reading this, you’re all about it, too!

If you’ve been with me for a little bit, you know that I’ve been working on this for a while. But I wanted to make sure that before I released it, it would overdeliver on expectations. That I could provide a whole courseload of resources that would make it easier for students to write a great resume … even if they don’t think they need one.

And I hope I’ve done just that.

I’m seriously so excited for you to have access to this. In this course, I’ll teach you everything you need to craft resumes that truly stand out. We'll explore how to infuse your values and interests into every section, making sure that whoever reads it sees not just what you've achieved but the essence of who you are.

And this has been battle-tested, for sure. Not only have I used this with my own children, but I’ve presented it to local high school students and presented it as a live workshop at Texas A&M to seniors working on their applications.

So get ready to unleash your full potential on paper! Whether you're aiming for that dream college or eyeing a competitive internship, a stellar resume can make all the difference.

What are you waiting for? I’ve got a super-amazing launch price of just $67 (that price will go to $127 in a week), so grab your access to the course and guide here.

And with spring break just around the corner, now is the perfect time to start working on these resumes!

So thanks for being here and joining me in this mission, Reader. I know I’ve said this before, but it really means so much to me to have you here.

Happy Resume Writing,

Julia

Hi, Reader! Today I want to do a little 3-2-1 game with you so we can get to know each other a little better. Ready? Let's go! 3 things going well in life right now: I'm getting ready to head down to Miami to pack up my daughter to bring her home for the summer. Thank goodness for CollegeBoxes. They pick up her moving boxes right from her dorm room and then deliver them to our front door. (Then they do the same thing in reverse in the fall.) Definitely simplifies moving — check them out to...

Hi, Reader! May (and summer vacation!) are just around the corner, and things are ramping up. Both of my kids are prepping for finals, and my essay students are gearing up for AP exams, followed quickly by their own finals. I know that doesn't leave a lot of time for college planning right now. And that's OK. But once you get a little breathing time, here are some things you can consider doing to get the most out of your summer. 9th-graders Build an awesome summer reading list: Start with...

Hi, Reader! It’s April 16, and do you know what that means? Either you were on the ball and filed your taxes yesterday and you’re breathing a sigh of relief today, or you’re like my household and didn’t quite get everything done like we’d hoped and had to file an extension. The years we have to file an extension in my household drive me crazy. We get the materials in January, and I try to get most of it uploaded. But then time gets away from us and BOOM. We’re up against a deadline and...
